“On the Reserve Hunting”
On
San Valley Game Reserve we are in
the process of establishing sustainable cycles in both
our Fauna & Flora. So far we are succeeding.
Unfortunately, some of the role players required are
now extinct. The Cape Mountain Lion is one of these.
Without this large predator, animals that Nature would
normally remove are allowed to breed unchecked. This means that
bad genes are allowed to propagate. We have therefore
been compelled to remove these animals out of the cycle.
The hunter takes the place of the extinct Cape
Mountain Lion. Only animals that would normally be taken
by the lion will be hunted. In this way the hunter
assists in completing Nature's cycle within the game
reserve.
We therefore allow very selective hunting and, since the
availability of animals varies, animals have to be
booked when making the reservation.
